AMES, Iowa - In another unprecedented event for the program, Iowa State's Sept. 15 volleyball match against Nebraska at Hilton Coliseum will be nationally televised by ESPNU. The Big 12 match will start at 7 p.m.
"This is a great opportunity for us to showcase our University, program and our great fan base to a national audience," Iowa State head coach Christy Johnson-Lynch said. "We are thrilled and very grateful to the ESPN Network for selecting Iowa State as one of its volleyball broadcasts this fall."
Last season, Iowa State defeated Nebraska for the first time in school history, winning a five-set thriller in Lincoln. In the second meeting in Ames, Iowa State broke a school record with a sellout crowd of 10,203 fans attending the match. The Huskers defeated the Cyclones, who went on to finish second in the Big 12 behind Texas, in the rematch.
