AMES, Iowa - In the past five years, Iowa State volleyball has become a must-see event. That was affirmed Tuesday when the Iowa State athletics department announced that volleyball season tickets are sold out for the 2010 season.
The school saw a surge in season-ticket sales this fall following the announcement that the Cyclones will play home matches at Ames High School after flooding damaged Hilton Coliseum. Iowa State has sold 1,500 season tickets with an additional 500 seats being held for Lil Clone Club members and their chaperons and students on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Ames High School gymnasium has a capacity of 2,000.
Once each match begins, athletics department officials will scan the actual crowd and may sell a limited number of single-match tickets at the door for $5 each if there is room (should some season ticket holders not attend a match).
The athletics department has decided that no single-match tickets will be sold for the Northern Iowa (Sept. 8), Nebraska (Sept. 15) and Texas (Nov. 27) matches.
