AMES, Iowa - Iowa State (13-4, 0-2) is looking for its first Big 12 win of the season this weekend, as the Cyclones will play host to Baylor (12-3, 2-0) Saturday night. Baylor is the only Big 12 Conference school that has yet to win a game in Hilton Coliseum. The Cyclones own an 8-0 all-time mark vs. the Bears in Ames.

- In Iowa State's four losses, all have been by six points or less...the Cyclones had the game tied with under a minute left in three of the four losses.
- Iowa State currently has five players averaging double figures in scoring, one of seven teams nationally to achieve this feat (Iowa State, VMI, Missouri, Ohio State, Troy, Long Beach State, Wake Forest).
- The Cyclones lead the Big 12 and rank 16th nationally in 3-pointers made per game at 8.8...Iowa State has made nine or more 3-pointers in a game nine times...ISU has three players with 30 or more treys (Christopherson-49, Vanderbeken-40, Garrett-30).

- Iowa State kept it close, but eventually lost to No. 3 Kansas, 84-79 Wednesday night.
- Kansas held a 13-point lead in the first half, but ISU whittled the lead down to one point early in the second half.
- The Cyclones kept the lead between 3-7 points in the final eight minutes of the game, but could not come up with the key stop or clutch basket to put them over the hump.
- KU's Marcus Morris was too much to handle for the smaller Cyclones, recording a career-high 33 points and 13 boards.
- Iowa State was outshot at the free-throw line, 31-10.
- The Cyclones made all of their 10 free-throw attempts, marking the first time ISU was perfect at the free-throw line in a game since going 9-for-9 vs. Alabama on Dec. 23, 2007...ISU has made its last 12 free-throw attempts.

- Jamie Vanderbeken continued to have the hot hand from long-range, scoring 19 points on four 3-pointers.
- Vanderbeken, who has made a 3-pointer in 10-straight games, is averaging 3.5 3-pointers made in his last four games (14-33, 42.4 pct.).
- Darion "Jake" Anderson added 16 points in the loss.
- Scott Christopherson scored nine points and made one 3-pointer in the game, increasing his streak of consecutive games with a 3-pointer to 19, the third-best streak in school history.
- Iowa State committed 12 turnovers in the game, but just two in the second half...with its 16 assists, the Cyclones had equal or more assists than turnovers for the 14th time this season.
- Kansas shot 46.9 percent from the field, ending ISU's six-game streak of keeping its opponent to below 40 percent shooting...the Cyclones rank third in the Big 12 in opponent field goal percentage defense at 36.8 percent.
