AMES, Iowa - For the fourth consecutive home game, the Iowa State football team will play in front of more than 50,000 fans.
Department officials announced Friday that more than 50,000 tickets have been distributed for Saturday's 2:30 p.m. Homecoming game against Texas A&M. The Cyclones have not had four crowds of more than 50,000 in the same season since 1982.
Iowa State is averaging 55,716 fans through its first three games at Jack Trice Stadium this fall (Northern Iowa, Iowa and Texas). That average would have been the second-highest single-game crowd in stadium history prior to this season.
The Cyclones' season ticket total this fall (37,792) broke the school record by nearly 1,200.
Tickets are still available for this week's game against the Aggies and can be obtained online at cyclones.com or at the Athletics Ticket Office. With good weather forecast and a crowd of better than 50k expected, fans are encouraged to arrive early Saturday.
