- Iowa State will travel to Drake on Tuesday to play in one of the oldest rivalries west of the Mississippi...the two teams have played 170 times every year except one since 1908.
- The game will be the first of the three matchups against the state's other Division I schools, as the Cyclones will try to attempt to win their first mythical state title since the 2005-06 season...ISU plays host to UNI (Nov. 30) and Iowa (Dec. 9).
- Iowa State won its season opener for the 14th-straight season in an 86-77 win over Lehigh on Saturday.
- Iowa State is now 85-20 all-time in season-opening games.
- Iowa State had seven players play for the first time in a Cyclone uniform vs. Lehigh.
- Iowa State drilled 10 3-pointers in the win over Lehigh, the 14th time in the Fred Hoiberg era where ISU made 10 or more 3-pointers in a game.
- Iowa State will be without the services of center Jordan Railey, who is serving the second of his two-game suspension for a violation of team rules.

- ISU head coach Fred Hoiberg was 4-0 against Drake in his career with the Cyclones, averaging 21.5 points...he scored 32 points against Drake on Dec. 6, 1994.
- Many of the Drake and ISU players competed together as teammates in the summer Capital City League in Des Moines...Christopherson was named MVP of the league in 2011, and Ejim was the MVP of the league in 2010.
