AMES, Iowa - The No. 13 Cyclones are 9-2 this season against Big 12 opponents (18-4 overall) and will look for their 10th conference win of the season when Texas Tech (15-10, 1-9) comes to Hilton Coliseum at 4 p.m. CDT on Saturday.
Tickets to Saturday's match can be purchased for $2 by fans with a ticket stub from the Iowa State-Kansas football game which is set for 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
The Cyclones swept the Red Raiders in Lubbock earlier this season behind 16 kills and five block assists from Carly Jenson and 10 kill from Hannah Willms. Texas Tech's Amanda Dowdy, who is averaging 3.87 kills per set this season in league play, had 10 kills and 10 digs in the match.
Jenson is coming off another stellar match for Iowa State, recording 25 kills and 16 digs in Wednesday's win over No. 25 Oklahoma. Setter Alison Landwehr had a career-high 64 assists in the match and sophomore middle blocker Tenisha Matlock contributed four blocks (one solo, three assists).
Iowa State has won 10-straight against the Red Raiders, dating back to the 2006 season.
Cyclone Notebook
- The No. 13 Cyclones will play Texas Tech at Hilton Coliseum at 4 p.m. CDT on Saturday following the Iowa State football game with Kansas, which kicks off at 11 a.m.
- The Cyclones collected 92 digs at Oklahoma, the most digs since the 2009 squad recorded 92 digs in its five-set win over No. 2 Texas.
- The Cyclones got back on win streak on Wednesday with a 3-1 win at No. 25 Oklahoma.
- Wednesday marked the second time this season, and first time in conference play this year, that five Iowa State players have been in double-digits in digs during a match (Kristen Hahn, Carly Jenson, Alison Landwehr, Rachel Hockaday and Caitlin Mahoney).
- Jenson was the go-to player against the Sooners, taking a career-high 65 swings and connecting for 25 kills, one shy of her career-best 26 kills. Jenson also added 16 digs.
- The match was the third 20+ kill performance for Jenson in the last two seasons and is the first 20+ kill match for a Cyclone since Jenson had 26 at Northern Illinois in the first weekend of the season.
- The senior outside hitter's 65 attempts is the first 60+ attempt match for an Iowa State player this season.
- Landwehr's 16 digs against the Sooners is a career high.
- The junior setter also set a career-high in assists with 64. The last time an Iowa State player had more than 60 assists was Landwehr, last season against Creighton in the NCAA tournament when she had 62 assists over five sets.
- The match at Oklahoma was broadcast on ESPNU, the 10th TV match for the Cyclones this season and the fourth produced by ESPN. (Iowa State's match at Texas was aired on the Longhorn Network which is run by ESPN).
- The win moves the Cyclones to 12-12 in televised matches under head coach Christy Johnson-Lynch.
- With another four-set win, the Cyclones are 6-0 in four-setters this season and 17-0 when they take the first set.
- Iowa State has 11 matches this season of at least four service aces, including two matches of 10 aces (Cincinnati and vs. Kansas).

- Tech was led by Amanda Dowdy in the early season match. Dowdy is averaging a team-high 3.87 kills per set this season against Big 12 opponents, ranked fifth in the conference.
- Although Tech is last in the league in hitting (.142), assists (10.24), kills (11.03) and aces (0.71) per set during the conference slate, the team is first in blocks with an average of 2.63 per set.
- Not a great pass-and-serve team, the Red Raiders allow 1.50 aces from foes per set, the most aces allowed by a Big 12 team this year.
