AMES, Iowa - A native of Southlake, Texas, defensive specialist and libero Caitlin Nolan and the Texas Advantage club team finished second at the Amateur Athletic Union Junior National Championship in the 17s division this season where Nolan earned all-American honors.
"Caitlin Nolan is an exceptional defensive player, a tremendous libero," Johnson-Lynch noted. "We wanted to find the best-possible passer we could and I think we found that in Caitlin Nolan. She's a great defender but she's really an exceptional passer."
Nolan is a two-time Libero of the Year at Southlake Carroll High School, helping lead the Lady Dragons to three-consecutive all-district championships. Nolan is ranked 40th by Prepvolleyball.com and garnered all-Texas team honors this season. As a junior, Nolan was named the district's top defensive player and was recognized by PrepVolleyball.com as a First Team Defensive Dandy.
As a result of her defensive skills, Nolan has been named the best defensive player or MVP of six separate Texas state tournaments in the last two seasons and was named the Prepvolleyball.com Player of the Week in August of this year.
Nolan plans to study engineering at Iowa State.
