Anderson Shares Big 12's Weekly Top Rookie Honor

IRVING, Texas - Iowa State senior men's basketball player Darion "Jake" Anderson shared Big 12 Rookie of the Week honors for games played from February 14-20, announced today by the Big 12 Conference office.
A native of Chicago, Ill., Anderson averaged 17.5 points and 5.0 rebounds during the week in two close losses to nationally ranked squads (Texas A&M, Missouri). Anderson led the Cyclones in scoring in both games, recording 18 points at Texas A&M and 17 points vs. Missouri.
Anderson was 7-of-16 from 3-point range during the week. The senior has tallied 11 of his 29 3-pointers on the season in his last three games. Anderson, who has 1,485 points in his four-year career, ranks third in the Big 12 in rebounding (7.5 rpg).
