AMES, Iowa - Iowa State volleyball redshirt-freshman Hannah Johnson has been recognized as one of the top two percent of academic sophomores in the College of Human Sciences at Iowa State. Johnson has compiled a 4.00 cumulative grade-point average in three full semesters at Iowa State.
An Ankeny native pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in diet and exercise, Johnson is one of 13 sophomores in top echelon of their class in the College of Human Sciences.
Human Sciences has 687 enrolled sophomores which had a 2.86 GPA through the fall 2010 semester.
There are 4,564 students in Iowa State's sophomore class who have earned a cumulative 2.84 GPA since coming to Ames. The class average only underscores Johnson's accomplishments as she has balanced school work with traveling with the nationally-ranked volleyball team over the last two seasons.
The Cyclones, who finished 20-9 overall and 13-7 in the Big 12 last season, are gearing up to kick off their spring schedule which begins Saturday March 26 at 10 a.m. at the West Towne Courts in Ames. Iowa will play host to Wayne State, Minnesota, Northern Iowa during the one-day tournament.
