AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State volleyball team has solidified its spring schedule, head coach Christy Johnson-Lynch announced Wednesday. The four-date schedule includes in-state rival Northern Iowa, Big 12 foe Kansas State and former Big 12 rival Nebraska.
The Cyclones will begin the spring slate at home, hosting Wayne State, Minnesota and Northern Iowa at West Towne Courts at 10 a.m. CST on March 26. The Cyclones defeated then-No. 18 Northern Iowa during the 2010 regular season at home in the Ames High School gym.
On April 2, Iowa State will travel to the University of Illinois where the teams will run drills at Bettendorf High School in Bettendorf, Iowa from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. before scrimmaging at 3 p.m. CST. Both sessions are open to the public.
Big 12 rival Kansas State will be one of three teams awaiting the Cyclones at a tournament hosted by the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Colorado State is the fourth participant at the tournament which will begin at 10 a.m. CST on April 9 in Kearney, Neb. A competition gym as yet to be determined.
Completing the spring in blockbuster fashion, the Cyclones will head to Lincoln, Neb. to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers at the NU Coliseum at 7 p.m. CST on April 16. Tickets for the Cyclones/Huskers match are currently on sale through Huskers.com and by calling the Nebraska Athletics Ticket office at 800-8BIGRED. Reserved tickets are $10 and general admission tickets are prices at $8.
