AMES, Iowa - the Iowa State Cyclones hit the road to face two Big 12 opponents in Texas this weekend. The Cyclones (10-10, 1-5 Big 12) will travel to meet No. 39 Texas Tech Friday before meeting the ninth-ranked Baylor Sunday.
Iowa State has been on and off this season in doubles matches, with all three pairs at 3-3 in the Big 12 to this point. Tessa Lang and Maria Fernanda Macedo have been strong at the No. 1 spot, currently sitting 13-9 overall.
Co-captain Erin Karonis is looking for a win at the No. 1 singles spot after her stumble against Kansas State last weekend. Karonis is currently 4-2 in the Big 12. Liza Wischer, Iowa State's other captain, is coming off a 6-1, 6-0 win against K-State.
The Lady Raiders (14-4, 5-1) will host Iowa State with duals beginning at 4:00 p.m. (CDT) at the McLeod Tennis Complex. Sunday, the Cyclones and Lady Bears (16-3, 5-1) meet at 1 p.m.(CDT) at the Baylor Tennis Center.
