AMES, Iowa – Former Iowa State star Diante Garrett will be playing professional basketball next season, that's a fact. Where the Milwaukee, Wis., native will be breaking down defenders off the dribble is still uncertain, however.
Garrett, who averaged 17.3 points and 6.1 assists while earning All-Big 12 Second-Team honors last year, will know a lot more about his future after tonight. The 2011 NBA Draft will be held this evening in Newark, N.J., and Garrett is hoping to hear his name called.
Iowa State fans will be rooting for Garrett, who ended his four-year career with the second-most assists (611) in school history while playing in a school-record 128 games. The video staff at cyclones.com put together this highlight reel of Garrett's senior season in tribute for one of Iowa State's best point guards.
