WEST DES MOINES, Iowa - Iowa State University Cyclone fans will find some new, unique food items at Jack Trice Stadium when the Iowa Farm Bureau's Homegrown Grill opens this fall. Located in Jacobson Plaza, the unique food stand will highlight Iowa's farm families and offer a variety of food options grown or raised by Iowa farmers at all six Cyclone home football games.
Some of the items include BBQ beef brisket, 3-way pork burger, corn on the cob, and veggie burgers.
"We're looking forward to an exciting season of Cyclone football and this farmer-focused food stand is a great addition to game day in Ames," Athletics Director
Jamie Pollard said. "Iowa State University and Iowa Farm Bureau have had a long relationship, from educating future farmers to sharing cutting-edge research helping farmers be more productive and successful. Cyclone football is proud to promote Iowa farmers and the variety of food choices they raise and grow. This is a great partnership for Iowa State University, farmers and fans."
Football fans will receive farmer trading cards with each purchase at Iowa Farm Bureau's Homegrown Grill. The cards feature Iowa farmers describing their farm and also include valuable food coupons from Hy-Vee.
"Home Grown Grill will highlight various farm families and offer some different items for football fans from the standard fare while helping connect them to the farmers who grow and raise their food," Sara Payne, IFBF chief marketing & communications officer, said.
Jacobson Plaza is located on the east side of Jack Trice Stadium. The Iowa Farm Bureau Homegrown Grill will be open for all Cyclone Football home games.
