AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State football team opens its season with consecutive home games against two in-state rivals and Coach Paul Rhoads said at media day that "it's exciting to play those games and I don't mind playing them early."
If you have not yet acquired tickets for those home games against UNI (Sept. 3) and Iowa (Sept. 10), single-game tickets for those contests go on sale Tuesday.
Reserved seats for the opener against the Panthers cost $50 each and hillside tickets are $20 each. Only hillside tickets ($60 each) will be available for the game against the Hawkeyes.
Fans should visit cyclones.com or call the Iowa State Athletics Ticket Office (1-888-478-2925 toll free or 515-294-1816 locally) to place single-game orders for UNI and Iowa beginning Tuesday.
Season ticket sales have been strong and the Cyclones could reach levels among the best in school history if typical fall sales continue.
"The people that I've spoken to all summer are excited about our team," Rhoads said, "and I suspect that enthusiasm is showing up at the box office."
A limited number of season tickets, which include a reserved seat for the Iowa game, are available for $225 (Cardinal Reserved level) or $375 plus a Cyclone Club donation (Donor Reserved level). Hillside season tickets, which also include the Iowa game, are available for $99.
Contact the athletics ticket office for more information.
The Cyclones' home schedule includes contests against UNI (Sept. 3), Iowa (Sept. 10), Texas (Oct. 1), Texas A&M (Oct. 22), Kansas (Nov. 5) and Oklahoma State (Nov. 18).
