Yes, you read that right. Head coach Paul Rhoads surprised the team last night at the end of a team meeting with a trip to the pool. The football staff rented out the Furman Acqutic Center in Ames Thursday night and the team spent time in the lazy river, had a bellyflop contest and played water basketball. The Iowa State football team kicked off camp Friday and got all but two practice periods finished before the rain hit Ames. It was the first practice for the team on the "field of dreams" practice fields since Aug. 10 of 2010. Those fields were ruined during last summer's flood. Monday, July 25, Iowa State Group Lands in Dallas, Commissioner's Reception Tonight
Head coach Paul Rhoads, WR Darius Darks and OL Kelechi Osemele landed at Addison Aiport in Dallas Monday in advance of the Commissioner's Reception. It is the first Media Day for both Darks and Osemele and LB Jake Knott, the third player in the traveling party, flew in from Kansas City to meet up with the rest of the group.

Funny note: Iowa State University Flight Service pilot Dave Hurst has been flying the University plane for almost 40 years and said that Kelechi Osemele is, believe it or not, the second largest human begin he's ever flown. The biggest, former Cyclone wrestler Chris Taylor.

Number Changes/Additions The cyclones.com staff received a jersey number roster from our equipment staff this week. The following list includes jersey numbers for new members of the team in the 105 for training camp. Note: This chart is subject to change and we'll post a new chart as number changes occur.
* training camp days are in dark gray and are subject to change. Classes begin Monday, Aug. 22. The cyclones.com staff will stop video coverage of practice once the "training camp" portion of practice officially winds down.
