AMES, Iowa - Metro Sports in Kansas City will broadcast Wednesday night's match between No. 16 Iowa State (11-2, 2-0 Big 12) and Kansas (11-2, 0-1). The Cyclones look to improve to 3-0 in conference play after defeating Missouri and Texas Tech last week.
The annual meetings between the Cyclones and Jayhawks have been intense in recent years as the teams have played two five-set matches, each winning one. Iowa State holds the 4-2 edge over the Jayhawks at the Horejsi Family Athletics Center but fell in four sets at Kansas last season.
Iowa State will need all its offensive firepower on Wednesday against a Kansas squad averaging 2.81 blocks per set. Caroline Jarmoc leads the Jayhawks with 1.32 blocks per set this season and picked up four blocks (one solo, three assists) in Kansas' loss to No. 8 Texas over the weekend.
Kansas' other loss on the year came against Northern Iowa in five sets the day before the Jayhawks beat No. 6 Minnesota in five.
Wednesday's match is set for a 6:30 p.m. CDT first serve.
