AMES, Iowa – Cyclone libero
Kristen Hahn was awarded her fifth defensive weekly award of the season, the Big 12 Conference office announced Monday. The honor is Hahn's ninth career nod.
Playing against No. 17 Kansas and at TCU last week, Hahn averaged 5.43 digs per set, including 24 digs in Iowa State's upset of the Jayhawks, to stay atop the Big 12 standings with an average of 5.54 digs per set during conference play.
The Cedar Rapids native has led the Big 12 in digs all season and is the key to Iowa State's 17.41 digs per set against Big 12 teams, the best team average in the league by 1.20 digs per set.
With 14 digs at TCU on Saturday, Hahn is on a 30-match streak of more than 10 digs per match, including 10 matches of more than 20 digs and two with more than 30 in 2012. The Cedar Rapids native is the only Big 12 player this season with 30 digs in two league contests.
Haley Eckerman of Texas took home top offensive honors while Texas Tech's Meghan Stacy was named the week's best-performing rookie.
No. 22 Iowa State (13-7, 7-3 Big 12) plays a final non-conference match on Tuesday, heading to South Dakota State for a 7 p.m. CST first serve.
