Texas Tech Awaits Cyclones In Lubbock

AMES, Iowa – The No. 22 Cyclones (8-6, 2-2 Big 12) finish their week on the road Saturday morning at Texas Tech (11-8, 0-3 Big 12).
Iowa State is looking to get back on a winning streak after falling at No. 14 Kansas State on Wednesday night in Manhattan, Kan. Sophomore Victoria Hurtt led the Cyclones with 10 kills in the match and Kristen Hahn picked up a team-high 18 digs.
Hurtt, who is averaging a team-high 3.00 kills per set in the Cyclones' last five matches, has nine double-digit kill performances this season, leading the team in kills in three matches. Hahn continues to dominate on defense, averaging 6.02 digs per set against Big 12 teams, the only player with an average over 5.00 digs per set.
The Red Raiders enter the weekend contest on a 0-7 skid, their last win coming Sept. 14 against Houston Baptist. Texas Tech has yet to win a set in Big 12 play and is hitting just .100 against conference opponents this season as teams are averaging 14.00 kills per set to the Red Raiders' 11.00.
The Cyclones have won the last 11 meetings with Texas Tech and have not dropped a set to the Red Raiders since 2010, two streaks the squad would like to see continue on Saturday.
Saturday's match is set for a 11 a.m. CDT first serve, due to a Texas Tech football game in the afternoon.

• A week on the road continues Saturday morning when the Cyclones visit Texas Tech for an 11 a.m. CDT first serve.
• Heading into matches with Texas Tech and West Virginia, Iowa State is two wins away from 700 all-time program wins.
• Libero Kristen Hahn made history this week, named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week for the third-straight week. Iowa State has never before won back-to-back-to-back conference awards.
• Hahn is third all-time in the Big 12 with seven defensive awards and is second among active players with seven career awards, behind Texas' Haley Eckerman (8).
• In Cyclone history, Hahn ranks fourth all-time in number of weekly accolades, tied with Curtis Stinson and behind Ashley Mass (15), Marcus Fizer (10) and Michelle Browning (8).
• After losing at No. 14 K-State on Wednesday, Iowa State is 1-4 on the road this season and 0-2 in Big 12 road matches.
• The Cyclones and Wildcats combined for 11 service aces and 19 service errors on Wednesday night, the most errors since Iowa State and Illinois combined for 23 service errors in a five-set Cyclone win.
• Iowa State tallied one more ace than the Wildcats, 6-5. The Cyclones have led in aces in 11 matches this season, going 7-4 in those contests.
• Kansas State is just the second team to hit over .300 against the Cyclones this season. Illinois hit .363 in their Aug. 31 win over Iowa State.
• Senior Taylor Knuth came off the bench for the Cyclones on Wednesday and put up career-highs for kills (6) and hitting percentage (.308).
• Hahn set a career-high with three aces against the Cats.
• For the second-straight match and the fourth time this season, only one Cyclone reached 10 kills in a match. Victoria Hurtt counted 10 kills against the Wildcats to pace the squad.
• K-State scored 17 points off Iowa State errors on Wednesday. In their eight wins this season, Iowa State has given up an average of 19.88 points on errors. In their six losses, the Cyclones are giving up just over 22 points off errors.
• Hahn continues to lead the Big 12 with 6.07 digs per set against league foes. No other player is averaging better than 4.50.
• Victoria Hurtt's 56 attack attempts at Kansas is tops among Big 12 players in conference play this season.
• Hahn's 33 digs against the Big 12 are the most in a league match this season and the only performance of 30 digs.
• No team has recorded more kills or assists in a league match than Iowa State, with 66 kills and 62 assists against Baylor.
• Iowa State is the only team to reach 80 digs in a Big 12 match this season, posting 84 against Kansas.
• Hurtt ranks in the top-10 in kills and points during league play. The sophomore is fourth with 3.27 kills per set and sixth with 3.50 points per set.
