AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State's linebacker duo of A. J. Klein and Jake Knott has been recognized as two of the top 10 linebackers to watch during the 2012 college football season by the Orlando Sentinel. Iowa State is the only school with more than one linebacker on the list.
The Sentinel promo for the story says "From A.J. Klein and Jake Knott at Iowa State to Dion Bailey at USC, these linebackers are making an impact for their respective teams."
The Sentinel has good things to say about both Cyclone stalwarts:
Buzz: Klein, along with teammate Jake Knott, (is part of) a powerful one-two combination for the Cyclones. The 6-foot-2, 244-pound linebacker led the team in tackles (116) and tackles for loss (7.5) and was tied for fourth with two sacks on the season earning him Big 12 co-Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Buzz: Knott, along with teammate A.J. Klein, make up one of the best linebacking duos in the country. The 6-foot-3, 239-pound senior was second on the team behind Klein in tackles (115) adding four tackles for loss as well as two interceptions and four forced fumbles for the Cyclones last season.
