AMES, Iowa – Iowa State announced Thursday it will play its Nov. 24 contest against Big 12 rival Texas at 6:30 p.m. CST.
The teams had yet to announce a time for the match with the Cyclone football team slated to play West Virginia on the same day. However, the Cyclones announced Wednesday that the football game against the Mountaineers would move to Nov. 23.
Texas and Iowa State finished first and second, respectively, in the Big 12 last season with the Longhorns earning victories in both of the teams' meetings. The squads will meet for the first time this season on Oct. 17 in Austin, Texas.
The Cyclones kick off their 2012 campaign on Aug. 24 against Cincinnati, the same team Iowa State defeated to begin its nine-match winning streak at the start of the 2011 season. This season's opener is set for 4 p.m. CST at the Comcast Lady Vol Classic in Knoxville, Tenn.
