AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State volleyball team is ranked No. 10 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) preseason poll. The Cyclones are one of three Big 12 teams ranked in the top-25 of the poll, along with No. 2 Texas and No. 22 Kansas State.
Iowa State will play nine matches against teams ranked in the top-25. The Cyclones' first test against a ranked opponent will be on Aug. 25 when the team travels to Knoxville, Tenn. to play both No. 12 Florida State and No. 15 Tennessee at the Comcast Lady Vol Classic.
On Sept. 5 the Cyclones will No. 21 Northern Iowa at Hilton Coliseum in Ames. The non-conference schedule ends when No. 4 Nebraska makes a trip to Ames on Saturday Sept. 15. The Cyclones will play two matches apiece against Texas and Kansas State during the Big 12 conference season.
Iowa State also welcomes the nation's 6th-ranked recruiting class.
