AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State women's cross country team is ranked fifth nationally on the USTFCCCA preseason national poll. The Cyclone men are ranked 38th nationally. Iowa State's women's cross country team is ranked first nationally on the USTFCCCA preseason Midwest Regional cross country rankings. The Cyclone women finished first in all but two of their meets last season which earned them first overall. The Cyclone men are ranked fifth in the Midwest region, after finishing sixth in 2011. Iowa State cross country has 14 women and 20 men returning for this season.
The Cyclones will start their season in Des Moines at the Bulldog 4k Classic on Friday, August 31st.
