AMES, Iowa - Iowa State and South Dakota State have reached an agreement that will pit the two schools against each other in football on Sept. 1, 2018 in Jack Trice Stadium. The Cyclone season opener will be the fourth game between the two schools.
"We remain committed to playing local NCAA FCS teams each year that can benefit financially from a game in Ames and also provide local student-athletes the opportunity to play in front of their family and friends," Iowa State athletics director Jamie Pollard said.
Iowa State and South Dakota State first met in 1952. The Cyclones beat the Jackrabbits, 44-17 on Aug. 28, 2008 in the last meeting between the two schools.
