AMES, Iowa – Iowa State head men's basketball coach Fred Hoiberg announced the signing of four-star point guard Clayton Custer to a national letter of intent for the 2014-15 basketball season.
Custer (6-1, 160, Fr., Overland Park, Kan.) earned a No. 90 national ranking from Rivals.com. He is a two-time first-team all-state Class 6A pick in Kansas after leading Blue Valley Northwest to back-to-back state titles.

One of the nation's best point guards and one of the best prospects from Kansas...a true point guard, Custer was a first-team all-state Class 6A pick in 2012 and 2013...has played in three-straight Class 6A state title games...led his team to a perfect 25-0 mark in 2013, averaging 22.2 points, 2.1 steals and 5.3 assists...shot 59 percent from the field, 39 percent from 3-point range and 80 percent from the free-throw line...averaged 19.0 points and won Class 6A state title game as a sophomore in 2012...scored 32 points in the state championship game...ranked 90th nationally in the Rivals.com ratings...a three-year starter, owning a 71-4 record...also had offers from Kansas State, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
