AMES, Iowa – Just two months removed from its NCAA Tournament Regional Semifinal appearance, the Cyclone volleyball team is back to work, gearing up for a spring schedule that includes some of the region's best teams.
The Cyclones will open the spring season with a March 28 match against Creighton at Harlan High School in Harlan, Iowa. Admission to the best-of-five match is free and doors will open at 5:45 p.m. CST for the 6:30 p.m. first serve.
On April 6, the squad heads to Nebraska for a 6 p.m. match. The meeting will be the first between the teams since Iowa State knocked off the top-ranked Huskers in Ames on Sept. 15. Tickets for the match will be $8 and will go on sale on Feb. 18 at huskers.com and at the Nebraska Athletics Ticket Office.
Returning home, Iowa State will host Nebraska-Omaha, Minnesota and UNI on April 13 at Hilton Coliseum. The Cyclones' home court will be split into two and teams will play simultaneous matches, side by side, beginning at 10 a.m. when Iowa State takes on Nebraska-Omaha and Minnesota faces UNI. Each participating team will play the other three during the day for a total of six matches. Admission to the tournament is free.
Finally, Iowa State will travel to Minnesota on April 20 when the Gophers host a seven team tournament at the Sports Pavilion. Match ups and times have not yet been announced.
