AMES, Iowa – Cyclone head volleyball coach
Christy Johnson-Lynch has been selected as one of three headlining speakers at the 2013 USA Volleyball Coaches' Clinic, Feb. 7-9, at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. U.S. Women's National Volleyball Team head coach, Karch Kelly, and Bill Hamiter, head coach for the silver-medal winning 2012 U.S. Paralympic Women's Sitting Volleyball Team are the weekend's other headline speakers.
“I am thrilled and honored to be a part of the USA Coaches' Clinic,” Johnson-Lynch said. “It will be a great experience for me both personally and professionally, and I am extremely excited to get the opportunity to interact with our National Team coaches and high school, club and college coaches from around the country.”
During the three-day event, Johnson-Lynch will lead three presentations focused on decision-making training for top setters, utilizing player strengths to maximize a team's defense and maintaining offensive pressure. She will also be part of panel discussions on women in coaching and players who become coaches.
Last week, Johnson-Lynch agreed to a new seven-year contract with Iowa State that will carry her through the 2019 season.
