- Iowa State looks to stretch its winning streak to five games when it hosts Southern Sunday at 5 p.m. The Cyclones beat Iowa, 90-75, on the road less than 48 hours before tipoff with the Jaguars.
- The Cyclones are ranked No. 14 in the AP poll, their school-record 23rd week in a row in the top-25.
- Fred Hoiberg is looking for his 98th win as Iowa State's head coach. He's just three wins from becoming the fifth coach in school history with 100 wins.
- The Cyclones have averaged 88.5 points and shot 53.6 percent from the field since falling to Maryland on Nov. 25. ISU is averaging 21.3 assists in the four games since the season's only loss.
- Georges Niang is leading the Big 12 in scoring (17.8 ppg) and Bryce Dejean-Jones is fourth (17.6). As a team, ISU tops the Big 12 with 84.4 points per game. The Cyclones have scored 90+ points four times this season. The Cyclones' 49.9 field goal percentage also leads the Big 12.
- Dejean-Jones, who was suspended vs. Iowa, is averaging 20.3 points per game in his last three games. In ISU's wins against Arkansas and Kansas City, Dejean-Jones shot 85 percent from the field (17-20). He also hit 6-of-8 threes and 9-of-10 free throws in that stretch. Dejean-Jones was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week on Monday.
- Iowa State is the league's best free-throw shooting team and the 20th-best team nationally shooting 75.6 percent from the charity stripe. Niang (90.2 percent) and Dejean-Jones (89.7 percent) are second and third, respectively, in the conference.
- Dejean-Jones (56.8) also paces the Big 12 in field goal percentage. Dustin Hogue doesn't qualify for the conference rankings, but is shooting 61.3 percent from the field.
- Monté Morris continues his stellar play at the point guard. The Cousy Award watch list member is leading the Big 12 with 5.9 assists (21st nationally) and a 6.7 assist-to-turnover ratio (2nd). He's got 47 assists and just seven turnovers. Morris has 12 steals in the last four games.
- Naz Long drilled five threes against Iowa. Long and Abdel Nader (4-6) combined to go 9-for-15 from downtown against the Hawkeyes. Long (21) and Nader (19) both scored season highs in the win.
- Iowa State is averaging 10.5 made 3-pointers in the last four games. Naz Long has hit a team-high 24 threes.
- ISU has a Big 12-best team assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.8 (fourth nationally). The Cyclones are averaging 10.6 turnovers per game compared to 19.0 assists. ISU has assisted on 64.7 percent of its field goals. Since having just eight assists against Maryland, ISU has averaged 21.0 per game.

- Iowa State blitzed the Hawkeyes with a 26-2 run after Iowa had tied it at 33 late in the first half...Matt Thomas' only points of the game came on a three at the buzzer to send ISU into the lockerroom up by five...ISU extended its lead by making 10-of-its-first-11 field goals in the second half.
- The Cyclones shot 63.3 percent in the second half and 53.1 percent in the game.
- Five Cyclones reached double figures: Long (21), Nader (19), Niang (16), Morris (14) and Hogue (13).
