- Iowa State enters Saturday's game riding the momentum of a five-game winning streak. The Cyclones have won four in a row against in-state foes and are 2-0 playing in the Hy-Vee Big Four Classic.
- The Cyclones are ranked No. 13 in the AP poll, their school-record 24th week in a row in the top-25.
- Fred Hoiberg is looking for his 99th win as Iowa State's head coach. He's just two wins from becoming the fifth coach in school history with 100 wins.
- Iowa State will have the services of Jameel McKay starting with Saturday's game. McKay, who transferred to ISU from Marquette and was a teammate of Dustin Hogue at Indian Hills Community College, will be playing his first basketball game Feb. 23, 2013 (665 days ago).

- ISU has a Big 12-best team assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.7 (3rd nationally). The Cyclones are averaging 10.9 turnovers per game compared to 18.8 assists. ISU has assisted on 64.2 percent of its field goals. Since having just eight assists against Maryland, ISU has averaged 20.4 per game.
