AMES, Iowa - No. 13 Iowa State won in dominant fashion over Drake this afternoon at Des Moines' Wells Fargo Arena by a score of 83-54. The Cyclones shot 54 percent from the field, assisting on 25 of 32 field goals (78.1%) en route to their third-consecutive Big 4 Classic victory.
How It Happened…
The Cyclones got off to a quick start, getting the crowd into it early on an alley-oop from Georges Niang to Bryce Dejean-Jones and a two-handed slam from Monte Morris on consecutive possessions to take a 9-2 lead. Iowa State distributed the ball effectively on the offensive end, dishing out 12 assists on 14 first-half field goals.
The Cyclones were aggressive on defense, forcing the Bulldogs into 18 turnovers in the contest and heading to the locker room with a 36-20 halftime lead.
The second half was all ISU. The Cyclones led by as many as 35 points (76-41, 6:45), as Long (13), Morris (12), Dustin Hogue (10) and Matt Thomas (10) each worked their way into double figures. Iowa State outrebounded Drake by a total of 36-29, paced by 25 boards on the defensive end.
11 different Cyclones scored in the outing, as each player saw the floor. Dejean-Jones, Hogue and Jameel McKay tied for the team lead in rebounds, each grabbing five boards on the day. Dejean-Jones was also led the team in assists, with five.
McKay, making his Iowa State debut, scored eight points to go with his five rebounds.

Dustin Hogue. Hogue scored in double figures for the sixth time this season, notching 10 points to go with his team-leading five rebounds. The Yonkers, New York, native also tacked on two assists in the effort.

Iowa State returns to the court Dec. 31 to take on Mississippi Valley State in Hilton Coliseum. The Cyclones' home contest is slated to tip off at 6:00 p.m. CT.
