- Iowa State is looking to extend its six-game winning streak when it hosts Mississippi Valley State Wednesday at Hilton Coliseum.
- Fred Hoiberg is looking for his 100th win as Iowa State's head coach. He's just one win from becoming the fastest ISU coach to 100 wins. He would be the fifth coach in school history and the first since Larry Eustachy to reach the milestone.
- Iowa State is also looking for its 500th win at Hilton Coliseum. ISU is 499-166 (.750 winning percentage) since moving to the building in 1971. Hoiberg has had a hand in 119 wins at Hilton Coliseum.
- The Cyclones are ranked No. 9 in the AP poll, their school-record 26th week in a row in the top-25.
- During Iowa State's recent win streak, the Cyclones have shot 53.6 percent from the field and averaged 21.2 assists per game.
- Iowa State, which leads the Big 12 in scoring with 84.6 points per game, has two of the top four scorers in the Big 12. The Cyclones average 5.9 points more per game than the second-highest scoring team in the league (West Virginia). Georges Niang (16.9) is second and Bryce Dejean-Jones is fourth with 16.0 points per contest. - Naz Long has hit a team-high 29 3-pointers. Long is shooting 40.8 percent from long distance and has hit a three in 18 games in a row dating back to last season. Long is second in the Big 12 and ranks in the top-50 nationally with 2.9 threes per game. Only Dedric Willoughby (3.78, 1997) has averaged more than 2.9 threes per game in a season.
- Monté Morris continues his stellar play at point guard. The Cousy Award watch list member is leading the Big 12 with 5.6 assists (28th nationally) and a 6.2 assist-to-turnover ratio (1st). He's got 56 assists and just nine turnovers. Morris has also shown his defensive prowess with 15 steals in the last six games.
- Iowa State continues to lead the Big 12 and rank 16th nationally at the charity stripe. The Cyclones are shooting 75.4 percent as a team, led by Dejean-Jones (88.9 percent) and Niang (88.0). Dejean-Jones and Niang are third and fourth, respectively, in the conference. Niang is shooting 91.2 percent from the line at home.
- ISU has a Big 12-best team assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.8 (2nd nationally). The Cyclones are averaging 11.0 turnovers per game compared to 19.4 assists. ISU has assisted on 65.7 percent of its field goals.
