- Iowa State looks to improve to 3-0 in true road games when it travels to Baylor for a Wednesday night showdown. The Bears enter the game ranked No. 22 in the AP poll. ISU has won 10 road games against top-25 foes in school history, but the last two meetings resulted in Cyclone wins (at WVU, at OSU (2014)).
- ISU is looking to win its first three road games of the season for the first time since 1987-88.
- The Cyclones are ranked No. 11 in the AP poll, their school-record 28th week in a row in the top-25.
- Iowa State, the Big 12's top scoring team at 80.4 points per game, got its offense back on track against West Virginia. The Cyclones' 74 points matched the most allowed by the Mountaineers this season. ISU is the only team to score 40+ points in a half against WVU and the Cyclones shot 50 percent from the field.
- The Cyclones, who are also the top shooting team in the league at 49 percent, have shot better in the last game and a half. The Cyclones shot just 35.7 percent in the first half of the game against OSU, but have since connected on 50.6 percent of their shots and 39.3 percent of 3-pointers.

- Hogue has increased his production the last three games, averaging a team-high 14.3 points and shooting 75 percent (15-20) from the field. Hogue dominated the second half against OSU, going 7-for-7 from the field and scoring all 17 of his points. Hogue scored ISU's last seven points in the game and blocked a 3-pointer with 0.9 seconds left to preserve the win. He followed with 11 points against WVU.
- Long has been ISU's top 3-point threat connecting on 38 3-pointers. Long is shooting 39.6 percent from long distance. Long is third in the Big 12 with 2.7 threes per game. Only Dedric Willoughby (3.78, 1997) has averaged more than 3.0 threes in a season at ISU.

He's shooting 66.7 percent from the field. McKay has 12 blocks in the last four games after swatting five shots at WVU.
- Monté Morris continues his stellar play at point guard. The Cousy Award watch list member is leading the Big 12 with 5.4 assists (37th nationally) and a 5.8 assist-to-turnover ratio (1st).
