AMES, Iowa – Iowa State rookie safety Kamari Cotton-Moya continues to wrap up postseason honors. The free safety was named to the 14th annual Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) Freshman All-America Team, announced today by the FWAA.
The voters consisted of a 10-person panel of nationally-prominent writers representing each of the FBS conferences.
A native of Bakersfield, Calif., Cotton-Moya started 11 games in his freshman season, leading the team in tackles (77) and ranking third on the team in pass breakups (8). He also registered 2.0 TFL and one forced fumble.
Cotton-Moya was named the 2014 Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year.
