Niang On Oscar Robertson Trophy Midseason Watch List

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State junior forward Georges Niang has been named to the USBWA's Oscar Robertson Trophy Midseason Watch List. The list is comprised of 17 players, which includes four seniors, nine juniors, one sophomore and three freshmen.

Niang has helped the Cyclones to a No. 9 national ranking and a 14-3 record, including 4-1 in Big 12 action. The Methuen, Massachusetts, native is averaging 14.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.

Niang is the only Big 12 player on the list.

The Cyclones and Niang return to action Saturday at Texas Tech. The game will tip off at 3 p.m. (CT) on ESPNU.
