IRVING, Texas – Nine members of the Iowa State football team have been named to the 2015 Academic All-Big 12 Conference teams, announced today by the Big 12 Conference.
Two Cyclones are three-time recipients of first team honors in juniors Daniel Burton (OL) and Luke Knott (LB).
Senior Brock Dagel (OL) was also a first-team honoree, as well as juniors Mitchell Harger (RB), Cole Netten (PK) and Kane Seeley (LB). Sophomores Jake Campos (OL) and Jake Rhoads (LS) joined the six upperclassmen on the first team.
One Cyclone received second-team honors in senior defensive back Qujuan Floyd.
In order to be awarded with first-team honors, a student-athlete must maintain a GPA of 3.20 or higher, while also participating in 60 percent of the games. Second-team honors are awarded to the student-athletes who maintained a GPA of 3.00 or higher.
Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and met all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
