Morris Named Big 12 Co-Player of the Week

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State junior Monté Morris has been named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Co-Player of the Week following his Most Outstanding Player performance last weekend at the Emerald Coast Classic.
Morris averaged 16 points, 7.7 assists and four rebounds while helping the fourth-ranked Cyclones to improve to 5-0 with three wins on the week. The point guard had his best game in the final, finishing with 20 points and a career-high nine rebounds to go along with six assists in a win over Illinois. In three games, he dished out 23 assists and had just one turnover.
Morris has been in double figures in all five games this season and is averaging 14.8 points. He leads the Big 12 with 7.0 assists per game.
Morris and the Cyclones return to action Tuesday night when they host North Dakota State (4-1) at 7 p.m.
