MADISON, Wisconsin - Only 52 teams woke up Friday morning with a chance to be the Division I NCAA Women's Volleyball champions. The Iowa State volleyball team is one of those select teams that still have a chance to lift the trophy, but the next test awaits.
That test will come tonight at the UW Field House when the Cyclones take on No. 10 Wisconsin at 8 p.m. The winner will advance to the Austin Regional at Gregory Gymnasium in Austin, Texas next weekend.

Cyclone Headlines
- The Iowa State volleyball team will look to reach its sixth Sweet 16 in program history Friday night when the Cyclones take on No. 10 Wisconsin, the No. 6 seed in the NCAA Volleyball Championship at 8 p.m.
- The Cyclones earned their date with the Badgers after defeating Miami (FL) in straight sets Thursday night. In ISU's 11 trips to the NCAA Volleyball Championship in program history, the Cyclones are 9-2 in opening round matches.
- ISU has a 5-3 record all-time in second round matches. The Cyclones' first ever second round win came at UW Field House in 2007 when Iowa State swept the Badgers to advance to the program's first Regional Semifinals round.
- Iowa State was led by true freshman outside hitter Jess Schaben, who made her NCAA Tournament debut in style with 16 kills at a .389 hitting percentage. The 2015 Big 12 Freshman of the Year also posted a career-best two solo blocks.
- Schaben, who also earned All-Big 12 Second Team and Big 12 All-Freshman Team honors, leads Iowa State with 3.27 kills per set. She has 334 kills in her freshman season, the second-most in ISU history by a freshman.
- The Cyclones also got a big evening from middle block Alexis Conaway. An All-Big 12 First Team selection, Conaway posted nine kills at a .500 hitting percentage. Her .355 hitting percentage leads the team and is on-pace to break ISU's school record for hitting percentage in a season.
- The ISU defense was led by Caitlin Nolan, who posted 17 digs against the Hurricanes. The senior now has 84 career digs in NCAA Tournament matches, the fifth-most in ISU NCAA history.
- Nolan is a two-time Big 12 Libero of the Year and two-time All-Big 12 First Team selection. A 2014 AVCA Third-Team All-American, Nolan leads the Big 12 and ranks fifth in the NCAA with 5.81 digs per set. She has 15 matches with at least 20 digs in 2015 and 12 sets with at least 10 digs.
