- Iowa State returns home for its sixth conference home game when it hosts Texas Tech. The Cyclones have won 19 consecutive home games, including 12 against Big 12 opponents. A win Saturday would give ISU its fifth 20-game home win streak in school history, three of which Fred Hoiberg would have been a part of.
- The Cyclones are ranked No. 11 in the AP poll, their school-record 31st week in a row in the top-25.
- The Cyclones follow Texas Tech with five of their final eight games, including the next two, against top-25 opponents.
- Iowa State is one of the top offensive teams in the nation. The Cyclones are the Big 12's top scoring team and 13th nationally at 80.1 points per game. ISU's 48.6 percent field goal shooting also leads the conference and is 17th nationally. Their field-goal percentage is the best by a Cyclone team since the 1993-94 team shot 49.4 percent.
- Georges Niang (15.6) leads ISU and is fourth in the Big 12 in scoring. Bryce Dejean-Jones is ninth with 12.9 points per contest and another starter, Naz Long, is 14th with 11.7 points. Monté Morris is in the top-20 averaging 11.1 points per game. ISU is one of five teams nationally with five players averaging double figures.
- In Iowa State's nine conference games the team has had six different leading scorers. Only Long and Niang have led the Cyclones in scoring in multiple games in conference play. Niang has led the Cyclones in scoring in each of the last three games, averaging 22.0 points per game in that stretch.
- Long has been ISU's top 3-point threat connecting on 54 3-pointers. He is shooting 41.2 percent from long distance and is second in the Big 12 with 2.6 threes per game. Long has 123 career threes, 118 of which have come in the last two seasons.
- Morris, a Cousy Award watch list member, is leading the Big 12 with 5.6 assists (26th nationally) and a 4.5 assist-to-turnover ratio (1st). He's got 118 assists and just 26 turnovers. Morris has also shown his defensive prowess with a team-high 34 steals.
- Morris has 80 steals in his career. Only 10 Cyclones have recorded more steals than Morris in their first two seasons at Iowa State.
- Jameel McKay has been a difference maker for the Cyclones, bringing energy on both ends of the floor. He's averaging 9.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game. McKay has 26 blocks in 12 games. Before McKay entered the lineup, ISU had 26 blocks as a team in nine games.
- ISU is first nationally in assists (17.8 per game). The Cyclones have a Big 12-best team assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.6 (6th nationally). ISU, which is averaging just 11.4 turnovers per game, has assisted on 62.4 percent of its field goals.

- The Cyclones were led by 24 points from Niang and 14 from Dejean-Jones...Morris was in double figures for the seventh consecutive game with 12 points and Long chipped in 11.
- Dejean-Jones had a team-high nine boards as ISU outrebounded its second-straight opponent.
Series Notes vs. Texas Tech
- The Cyclones and Texas Tech will meet for the 27th time in series history. Iowa State has won five of the last seven meetings and own a 14-12 edge in the all-time series.
- The Cyclones hold a 9-3 edge in games played in Ames, including wins in the last three meetings. The last home loss to Tech came in 2011.
- Texas Tech is one of four Big 12 schools that Iowa State has a series edge with: Baylor (17-11), TCU (6-5) and West Virginia (4-1).
- Texas Tech stunned the Cyclones with a 78-73 win in the first meeting this season in Lubbock...the Red Raiders hit 11-of-24 threes and the Cyclones were 6-for-31 behind the arc...Toddrick Gotcher hit five threes off the bench in the game and Devaugntah Williams scored 22 points...the Cyclones were led by Morris' 20 points while Niang had 10 points and Thomas added 12 off the bench.
