- Iowa State plays its third-straight Big Monday game when it travels to Norman to face Oklahoma.
- The Cyclones are ranked No. 11 in the AP poll, their school-record 31st week in a row in the top-25.
- The Cyclones play five of their final eight games, including the next two, against top-25 opponents. ISU is 4-2 against ranked foes this season and has 13 wins against the top-25 the last two seasons.
- Iowa State is one of the top offensive teams in the nation. The Cyclones are the Big 12's top scoring team and 11th nationally at 79.9 points per game. ISU's 48.9 percent field goal shooting also leads the conference and is 11th nationally. Their field-goal percentage is the best by a Cyclone team since the 1993-94 team shot 49.4 percent.
- Georges Niang (15.2) leads ISU and is fourth in the Big 12 in scoring. Bryce Dejean-Jones is 10th with 12.5 points per contest and another starter, Naz Long, is 13th with 11.8 points. ISU is one of five teams nationally with five players averaging double figures.
- In Iowa State's 10 conference games the team has had six different leading scorers. Only Long, McKay and Niang have led the Cyclones in scoring in multiple games in conference play. Niang has led the Cyclones in scoring in three of the last four games and is averaging 18.3 points during that stretch.
- Long has been ISU's top 3-point threat connecting on 57 3-pointers, just three shy of breaking into the school's single-season top 20.. He is shooting 41.3 percent from long distance and is second in the Big 12 with 2.6 threes per game. Long has 126 career threes, 121 of which have come in the last two seasons.
- Monté Morris, a Cousy Award watch list member, is leading the Big 12 with 5.6 assists (24th nationally) and a 4.8 assist-to-turnover ratio (1st). He's got 124 assists and just 26 turnovers. Morris has also shown his defensive prowess with a team-high 38 steals.
- Morris has 84 steals in his career. Only 10 Cyclones have recorded more steals than Morris in their first two seasons at Iowa State.
- Jameel McKay has been a difference maker for the Cyclones, bringing energy on both ends of the floor. McKay made his first career start against Texas Tech in place of Dejean-Jones (arrived late) and scored a career-high 17 points to go with eight boards and three blocks. He's averaging 9.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game. McKay has 29 blocks in 13 games. Before McKay entered the lineup, ISU had 26 blocks as a team in nine games.
- ISU is first nationally in assists (17.8 per game). The Cyclones have a Big 12-best team assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.6 (6th nationally). ISU, which is averaging just 11.3 turnovers per game, has assisted on 62.5 percent of its field goals.

- In the Fred Hoiberg era, the Cyclones have made 10 or more 3-pointers in a game 65 times.
- ISU is 91-10 when leading at the half under Hoiberg...including 16-0 this season.
- Iowa State is 24-1 under Hoiberg when scoring 90+ points...ISU has averaged 47.4 points in the second half of the last five games (31.8 ppg/first half).

- Iowa State had one of its most complete performances in a 75-38 rout of Texas Tech Saturday...it was ISU's 20th consecutive home win...the Cyclones shot 56 percent in the game, while holding TTU to just 30.9 percent shooting...the 37-point margin of victory was ISU's third-largest against a conference foe and the 38 points allowed are the fewest in a conference game since Jan. 9, 1967 (Oklahoma State).
- The Cyclones had just two players in double figures...McKay made his first start of the season in place of Dejean-Jones and scored a career-high 17 points...Long hit three 3-pointers and scored 15 points...no ISU starter played more than 29 minutes (Long).
Series Notes vs. Oklahoma
- Oklahoma holds a 112-82 edge as the teams get set for the 195th meeting in the series.
- ISU is averaging 9.5 three-pointers per game against Oklahoma during the eight meetings in the Hoiberg era.
- The teams split last season's two meetings, with both teams winning at home.
Niang has averaged 14 points and shot 53.8 percent from the field in five games vs. OU. He had 27 points the last time the teams faced off.
Fred Hoiberg is 5-3 against OU as a coach. OU coach Lon Kruger is 9-6 all-time vs. ISU as a head coach (7-1 at Kansas State, 0-1 at Florida, 2-4 at Oklahoma).
- Hoiberg was 4-5 vs. OU in his playing career with the Cyclones (1992-95). He averaged 14.3 points and 5.8 rebounds vs. the Sooners and tallied 30 points at OU on Feb. 1, 1995 (OU, 79-78).
