@CycloneMBB Notebook
- Iowa State posted a historic comeback Monday night against Oklahoma, rallying from 21 points down to defeat the Sooners in dramatic fashion. The win matched ISU's largest comeback in school history and was the biggest comeback by a team in one of the major five conferences this season. ISU used a 22-0 run midway through the second half that spanned just 5:26.
- The Cyclones have won 20 games and 10 conference games for the fourth consecutive season for the first time in school history. ISU has won at least 11 conference games in four consecutive seasons.
- The Cyclones are ranked No. 17 in the AP poll, their school-record 35th consecutive week in the top-25. ISU's 16 wins against top-25 teams in the last two seasons are the most in the nation.
- Iowa State is the only team in the nation with six players scoring in double figures. The Cyclones are trying to become the first team in Big 12 history to achieve the feat.
- ISU is pacing the Big 12 with 79.0 points per game, five points more than the second-best scoring team in the league. Iowa State's field goal percentage of 48.2 percent also leads the Big 12.
- Iowa State is shooting 39.7 percent from behind the arc the last seven games. Monté Morris has hit 55.6 percent of his tries during that stretch, connecting on 10-of-18 attempts. Georges Niang drilled a career-high five 3-pointers on seven attempts against Kansas State and has hit 7-of-10 in the last two games.
- Jameel McKay has been a difference maker for the Cyclones, bringing energy on both ends of the floor. He's leading the team with 14.1 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.8 blocks in eight games as a starter. Before McKay (48 blocks) entered the lineup, ISU had 26 blocks as a team in nine games.
- Thanks in large part to McKay, ISU has more blocks this season (111) through 29 games than it did last season in 36 games (106). ISU has its most blocks in a season since Hoiberg's first season (2010-11, 118).
- Niang (15.1) leads ISU and is fourth in the Big 12 in scoring. In the last two games, Niang is averaging 22 points, while shooting 53.3 percent from the field and 70 percent (7-10) behind the arc. He is also eighth in the Big 12 with 3.3 assists per game and his 5.4 rebounds are a career high.
- Niang is one of 16 players nationally, and just five non-guards, averaging 15 points, five rebounds and three assists this season.
- Morris, a Cousy Award finalist, is leading the Big 12 with 5.3 assists (32nd nationally) and a 4.4 assist-to-turnover ratio (1st). He's dished out 155 assists and just 35 turnovers. Since the start of last season, Morris has 95 steals. He is the only Big 12 player with more than 90 steals the last two seasons.
- Naz Long has been the top 3-point threat connecting for the Cyclones, who are averaging 8.9 made threes the last seven games. Long has hit 69 3-pointers, the 11th-most in a single season for Iowa State. He is shooting 41.1 percent from long distance and is second in the Big 12 with 2.4 threes per game.
