AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State volleyball team returns to Hilton Coliseum this week for the Iowa State Volleyball Spring Tournament. Action will start at 9:30 a.m., with ISU playing five two-set matches across the day. The doors at Hilton Coliseum will open at 9 a.m. and admission to the event is free.
The Cyclones open the tournament at 9:30 a.m. against Concordia (MN) College, followed by a 10:20 a.m. match against Omaha and an 11:10 a.m. match against Missouri. The afternoon session starts at 1 p.m. against UNI with the tournament closing out at 2:40 p.m. against North Dakota State. All of Iowa State's matches will be played on the designated Court 1, which will be on the east side of Hilton Coliseum. The Alumni Match, originally scheduled for 4 p.m., will not be played.
The Court 2 schedule reads as follows: 9:30 a.m. – UNI vs. Missouri, 10:20 a.m., UNI vs. Concordia, 11:10 a.m. North Dakota State vs. Omaha, 1 p.m. North Dakota State vs. Missouri, 1:50 p.m. UNI vs. Omaha and 2:40 p.m. Concordia vs. Omaha. A match between North Dakota State and Concordia will be played on Court 1 at 1:50 p.m.
Iowa State is off to a strong start in the spring season. Last week, ISU took three of four sets off Iowa in Iowa City, and followed that up by going 5-0 without dropping at set at UNI's Spring Play-Day in Cedar Falls.
ISU closes out the spring season next Saturday with a match against Illinois. The match will take place at Mount Vernon High School in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
