AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State volleyball team is back in action this weekend with another challenging tournament on the docket, this time the Confort Suites Challenge hosted by the University of Iowa. The Cyclones will play a trio of matches this weekend, starting tomorrow, which will include the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series meeting with Iowa.
The Cyclones start competition Friday at 1:30 p.m. with a meeting against No. 25 Texas A&M, ISU's first match-up with an AVCA Top 25 squad this season. The Cyclones return to Carver-Hawkeye Arena that evening at 8 p.m. for the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series meeting with the host Iowa Hawkeyes. On Saturday, ISU will close out the tournament with a 4 p.m. match against Milwaukee.
Tickets are $6 per day, and can be bought online

Cyclone Notes
- The Iowa State volleyball team has a challenging weekend ahead at the Comfort Suites Challenge, hosted by the University of Iowa.
- The Cyclones start the weekend Friday at 1:30 p.m. with their first ranked opponent of the season in No. 25 Texas A&M. ISU then has its annual Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series match aganist Iowa that night at 8 p.m. Iowa State closes out the weekend Saturday at 4 p.m. with a match against Milwaukee.
- For the second-straight weekend, Iowa State posted a 2-1 record. The Cyclones were at the Cavalier Classic, defeating Appalachian State and VCU before falling to hosts Virginia in five sets.
- The Cyclones were led by freshman Jess Schaben, who picked up Big 12 Rookie of the Week honors after recording 51 kills in Charlottesville last weekend.
- In Iowa State's five-set victory over Appalachian State, Schaben had one of the best matches by a freshman in Iowa State history. Schaben broke the ISU record for kills by a freshman in a match with 28, collecting those at a .397 hitting percentage. For her efforts, Schaben was named to the Cavalier Classic All-Tournament Team.
- Iowa State libero Caitlin Nolan, a 2014 AVCA Third-Team All-American, is off to a strong start to her 2015 campaign. The senior ranks second in the Big 12 with her 5.42 digs per set. In ISU's win over Appalachian State, Nolan posted 34 digs, her fifth career match with over 30 digs and the most digs by a player in the Big 12 this season. Her 29 digs in the loss to Virginia is the second-most in the Big 12 this season.
- Outside hitter Ciara Capezio made her return from an ankle injury with a strong weekend. The junior started the weekend with 17 kills and a career-high 20 digs in the victory over Appalachian State. Capezio had missed almost the entire opening weekend due to a sprained ankle.
