Game #11-Mississippi Valley State
• Iowa State has its final tuneup prior to Big 12 play starting when it faces Mississippi Valley State Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at Hilton Coliseum...the Cyclones are 4-1 at home this season...the Cyclones have won 83 games from 2014-present...a win Tuesday would tie for the fifth-most in a four-year period in school history.

• ISU looks to win back-to-back games for the first time since the Advocare Invitational when it faces the Delta Devils...since the tournament in Orlando, ISU has went 2-2 while shooting just 41.9 percent from the floor...ISU scored 97 points last Saturday against Drake, its third game this season scoring more than 95 points.
• Iowa State has been a more defensive team this season, ranking among KenPom.com's top 40 in both adjusted offensive efficiency (40) and defensive efficiency (29)...the Cyclones are first in the Big 12 and 11th nationally in field-goal percentage defense (36.6 percent)...the highest the Cyclones have ranked in the Big 12 in FG percentage defense is third in 1996-97, the first season of Big 12 play.
• The Cyclones have allowed just four of 10 opponents to shoot above 40 percent from the field in a game...opponents are shooting just 39.2 percent on 2-point shots, which ranks sixth nationally.
• The offensive attack has had its highs and lows this season, but a common theme has been ball movement leading to success...in ISU's wins, the Cyclones have averaged 19.0 assists compared to just 9.0 assists in losses...in the wins, ISU has assisted on 54.0 percent of its made field goals...in losses, the number drops to 35.5 percent.
• Nazareth Mitrou-Long filled up the scoresheet to the tune of a career-high 37 points against Drake...he hit 14-of-18 shots and 8-of-12 from behind the arc on his way to earning Big 12 Player of the Week honors...Mitrou-Long is averaging 2.4 made threes a game.
• Monté Morris ranks 30th nationally in assists per game (5.9) and eighth in assist-to-turnover ratio (4.2)...Morris scored 20 against Drake, his third game this season with 20 or more points...it broke him out of a mini slump in which he had averaged just 10.4 points and shot just 35 percent from the field the previous five games.
• Morris now ranks 20th on ISU's all-time scoring list...against Omaha, Morris dished out his 600th career assist, becoming just the third Cyclone and sixth playing in Big 12 history to reach the mark...he currently has 610 assists and needs two more to move past Diante Garrett for second all-time at Iowa State.
• It should come as no surprise, but Iowa State ranks among the nation's top teams in taking care of the basketball...the Cyclones average 10.0 turnovers per game, which leads the Big 12 and is seventh nationally...ISU's turnover percentage of 13.2 ranks third nationally.
• Iowa State boasts one of the most experienced teams in the nation...according to KenPom.com, ISU average experience is 2.58 years, which ranks fourth nationally...the Cyclones are one of four teams starting five seniors (NC Central, Little Rock, Jacksonville).
• The Cyclones used just their second starting lineup of the season against Drake, replacing Merrill Holden with fellow graduate transfer Darrell Bowie...Bowie is averaging 8.8 points and 6.9 rebounds...Holden was the first Cyclone off the bench against the Bulldogs.

• The last meeting was in 2014, an 83-33 win by the Cyclones at Hilton Coliseum...Mitrou-Long hit 7-of-10 three-pointers in the win, finishing with a game-high 24 points...that meeting was the last scoreless game of Monte Morris' career...he finished 0-for-1 in 17 minutes.
• This is Steve Prohm's first game against MVSU.
• Mississippi Valley State graduate assistant Jaquay Walls played at Colorado (1998-2000)...Walls hit a halfcourt shot to send the 2000 game against the Cyclones to overtime in Boulder...the Buffs handed the Cyclones one of their two Big 12 losses that season and Walls finished with 42 points, tied for the sixth-most ever scored by an ISU opponent.
Last Time Out - Mitrou-Long, Morris Lead Cyclones Past Drake
• Mitrou-Long had a career night, drilling 14-for-18 shots from the field and 8-of-12 behind the arc to score a career-high 37 points as ISU beat Drake, 97-80, Saturday at the Hy-Vee Classic in Des Moines.
• Mitrou-Long set Wells Fargo Arena records for points, field goals, three-point field goals and three-point field goal attempts.
• Morris scored 20 points, his third game this season with 20 or more points...he also had four assists and no turnovers for the Cyclones, his 39th career game without a giveaway.
• The Cyclones had 20 assists on 34 field goals and a season-low five turnovers.
