Niang Named to Wooden Award Late Season Top 20

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State senior Georges Niang has been named to the Wooden Award Late Season Top 20 list, announced tonight on ESPNU.

Niang, a Methuen, Massachusetts, native, is averaging 19.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists. The forward is the only player in the Big 12 to rank in the top 15 in all three stat categories. He is second in the league in scoring.

Niang has been in double figures in all 23 games this season, including nine with 20 or more points.

The Cyclones and Niang take the court again this evening when they face Texas Tech at 8 p.m. on ESPNU.
