Thomas Earns Academic All-Big 12 Honor

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State junior guard Matt Thomas has earned Academic All-Big 12 first-team honors, announced today by the conference office. Thomas is one of just 14 student-athletes on the first team.
The Onalaska, Wisconsin, native, is a management major. Thomas was a second-team honoree as a sophomore.
First-team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA and participated in 60 percent of their team's contests. Freshman and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
