AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State seniors went out in style Monday night. Abdel Nader (19), Georges Niang (17) and Jameel McKay (6) combined for 42 points to pace No. 21 Iowa State (21-9, 10-7 Big 12) to a 58-50 victory over Oklahoma State (12-18, 3-14 Big 12).
After a sluggish start, ISU outscored OSU 24-8 in the first 10 minutes of the second half to reach double-digits in conference victories for a school-record fifth-straight season.
Niang ended his brilliant home career with his 96th career victory and a 60-5 record in Hilton Coliseum. It was Niang's 39th-straight game in double-figure scoring and he added his fifth career double-double with 10 boards. Meanwhile, Nader connected on 6-of-9 shots from the field, 3-of-5 from downtown and 4-of-4 from the charity stripe.
McKay added 10 boards, his 12th double-digit rebounding effort of the season.
How it Happened
Oklahoma State held an 18-16 lead with 7:37 left in the first half as the Cyclones struggled to get the lid off the basket, making just 35.3 percent of their shots. ISU's 16 points were strictly from seniors- 10 from Nader and 16 from Niang.
Iowa State went into the break with a 27-25 lead, as the seniors accounted for 22 of ISU's 27 points.
The Cyclones came out blazing out of intermission, scoring the first 11 points to take a 38-25 lead with 15:37 left in the game. Niang and McKay each had a pair of hoops and Matt Thomas connected on a corner trey to jumpstart the Cyclones.
Nader soon gave ISU a 17-point lead with an incredible nine-point flurry. He sandwiched a posterizing and-one slam dunk between two corner treys, as the Cyclones jumped ahead 49-32 with 11:35 left in the game.
OSU snuck back into the game, cutting the deficit to six points (53-47) with under two minutes left. ISU then took a comfortable 10-point lead at 58-48 with :30 seconds left.
Cyclones of Note: Georges Niang and Abdel Nader. ISU's seniors came to play in their Hilton finale, combining for 36 of ISU's 58 points on the night. Niang added four assists to reach 400 in his career. He is now just the 10th player in Division I since 1994-95 to reach 2,000 points, 600 rebounds and 400 assists.

*ISU finished the season with a 14-2 at home record. ISU is 76-7 in Hilton Coliseum in the last five seasons.

*Thomas has 76 3-pointers on the season to tie for 10th on ISU's season list.
*Monte' Morris handed out six assists to give him 215 on the season, the third-best single-season total in school history.
*Morris scored four points to give him 1,077 in his career, moving to No. 28 on ISU's career scoring list.
