AMES, Iowa – After being named an NABC Second-Team All-American earlier Monday, Iowa State senior Georges Niang has also been recognized on the Wooden Award 10-man All-America team and earned a spot on the Midwest Region All-Tournament Team.
The Methuen, Massachusetts, native, averaged 20.5 points per game as a senior, including 28.7 points in three NCAA Tournament games. Niang is one of five players in NCAA tournament history to score 28 or more points in three consecutive games.
