• ISU looks to start Big 12 play 2-0 for the first time since 2014-15 Wednesday when it faces Baylor in a road contest...the Cyclones haven't won at Baylor since the 2012-13 season, but the last four games in Waco have been decided by single digits, including an OT loss last season...ISU's last road win against a top-5 team was in 2010 (Kansas State).

• ISU improved to 9-3 overall and 1-0 in Big 12 play with a come-from-behind win against Texas Tech...with the offense struggling, ISU turned to defense to get going...ISU held TTU to 38.6 percent shooting and just 21 second-half points in the 63-56 win...the Cyclones shot just 39.6 percent from the field, winning for the second time this season while shooting below 40 percent...it's the first time since 2011-12 that ISU posted two wins in a season shooting below 40 percent.
• Iowa State ranks among KenPom.com's top 55 in both adjusted offensive efficiency (54) and defensive efficiency (19)...the Cyclones are first in the Big 12 and fifth nationally in field-goal percentage defense (36.6 percent)...the highest the Cyclones have ranked in the Big 12 in FG percentage defense is third in 1996-97, the first season of Big 12 play.
• The Cyclones have allowed just five of 12 opponents to shoot above 40 percent from the field in a game...opponents are shooting just 39.5 percent on 2-point shots, which ranks fifth nationally.
• The offensive attack has had its highs and lows this season, but a common theme has been ball movement leading to success...in ISU's wins, the Cyclones have averaged 18.2 assists compared to just 9.0 assists in losses...in the wins, ISU has assisted on 54.8 percent of its made field goals...in losses, the number drops to 35.5 percent.
• Iowa State is averaging 11.2 3-pointers made and shooting 40.6 percent behind the arc the last five games...in the first seven games, ISU averaged 7.0 threes per game and shot 32.0 percent...ISU is also averaging 16.4 assists per game in the last five contests.
• It should come as no surprise, but Iowa State ranks among the nation's top teams in taking care of the basketball...the Cyclones average 10.1 turnovers per game, which is leads the Big 12 and is sixth nationally...ISU's turnover percentage of 13.7 ranks third nationally...ISU is tied for fifth with five games with eight or fewer turnovers this season.
• The Cyclones are averaging just 8.7 turnovers the last three games.
• Nazareth Mitrou-Long is averaging 19.2 points and shooting 59.6 percent from the field and 46.2 percent behind the arc in the five games since going scoreless against Cincinnati...he has hit a three in 11 of 12 games this season and with 193 career threes sits five shy of second all-time at ISU (Scott Christopherson)...in the last three games he's averaging 25.0 points.
• Monté Morris ranks 32nd nationally in assists per game (5.8) and fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio (4.6)...Morris, who has 1,308 points, needs six points to pass Jeff Hornacek for 19th on ISU's scoring chart...against Texas Tech, Morris posted his 40th career game with zero turnovers (six assists)...he has just one turnover in the last 104 minutes he's played.
• Donovan Jackson is 11-for-22 on 3-pointers the last five games...ISU is 6-1 this season when Jackson hits a 3-pointer.
• Iowa State boasts one of the most experienced teams in the nation...according to KenPom.com, ISU average experience is 2.56 years, which ranks fourth nationally...the Cyclones are one of four teams starting five seniors (NC Central, Little Rock, Jacksonville).
• The Cyclones moved Darrell Bowie into the starting lineup three games ago...since moving into the starting five, Bowie is averaging 8.0 points and 5.0 rebounds...he leads the team's starters shooting 51.3 percent from the floor.

• Iowa State and Baylor are meeting for the 32nd time with the Cyclones holding a 17-14 edge in the all-time series...the Bears have had the Cyclones' number since ISU won in the Big 12 Championship title game in 2014...Baylor has won the last four meetings and five of the last six between the teams.
• ISU is 2-5 all-time against ranked Baylor teams, including a 2-1 record when the Bears were ranked in the top-10.
• Steve Prohm is 0-2 all-time against Baylor and Scott Drew.
• Baylor is one of four Big 12 schools that Iowa State owns a series edge with: Texas Tech (17-13), TCU (9-5) and West Virginia (5-3).

Last Time Out - Cyclones Rally In Second Half To Beat Texas Tech
• ISU erased a 14-point second-half deficit to defeat Texas Tech, 63-56, in the Big 12 opener last Friday...the Cyclones overcame 32 percent shooting in the first half, locking down on defense and holding TTU to just 26.9 percent shooting in the second half.
• ISU made 15 of its last 16 free-throw attempts...Mitrou-Long, Morris and Thomas were a combined 13-for-13.
• Mitrou-Long led the Cyclones in scoring for the third time this season with 19 points, including 17 in the second half...Morris was the only other Cyclone in double figures with 14 points...he also had six assists and no turnovers.
