Iowa State Faces TCU Saturday

AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State women's basketball team (11-9, 2-7 Big 12) returns to Hilton Coliseum for a two-game home stand when it takes on TCU (10-10, 2-7 Big 12) on Saturday, Jan. 28 at noon. Iowa State is looking to even the series with TCU as the Horned Frogs hold a 6-5 all-time edge after an 80-75 win on Jan. 15 in Fort Worth, Texas. The Cyclones' game will air on Cyclones.tv.
On Saturday, the Cyclones will hold a "We Are Cyclone Nation" diversity and inclusion event, which is the first of its kind to be hosted in Hilton Coliseum.  Athletics and the university strive to further the University's mission of making Iowa and the world a better place, by cultivating an experience where faculty, staff, students, alumni, fans, and visitors feel welcomed, supported, included and valued by the university and each other. Prior to the start of the game diversity affirming statement "I Am" cards will be available for fans to participate in the celebration. Fans will be able to pick up the cards upon entry and fill in the blank space with a statement about what makes them a diverse individual. We encourage fans to participate by holding these cards up during our pre-game presentation.

- Seanna Johnson currently ranks 10th in school history in points (1,483), fourth in rebounds (955) and is third in double-doubles (31). She needs just 12 points to pass Stacy Frese for ninth in school history. Her 955 rebounds ranks eighth in the nation among active career leaders.
- Johnson was also named one of 30 candidates for the Senior CLASS Award and is the third Cyclone in the last five years to make the initial list.
- Jadda Buckley currently ranks 10th all-time in Iowa State history with 405 career assists. Her 405 career assists rank 34th nationally and third among juniors. Buckley's 5.3 assists per game, also ranks second in the Big 12 and 40th in the nation. Her 105 assists on the season rank 35th nationally as well.
- The Cyclones rank second in the nation in free throw percentage (81.0%). ISU led the nation in 2012-13 and 2013-14 at the charity stripe.
- Bridget Carleton ranks fourth in the nation in free throw percentage (92.6), while Buckley is 15th netting 90.1 percent from the charity stripe. Buckley's 87.1 career free-throw percentage is second in the ISU record and ranks second in the nation among active career leaders, just under Washington's Kelsey Plum's 88.1 percent.
- Iowa State has three of the Big 12's top seven scorers with Johnson fourth (16.4), Carleton in sixth (15.4) and Buckley in seventh (14.8). No other Big 12 school has more than one in the top seven.
- Johnson currently ranks sixth in school history in free throws made (363) and is sixth in free throws attempted (474). She needs 21 attempts to pass Chelsea Poppens for fifth all-time and 51 makes to pass Hallie Christofferson for fifth all-time.
- The 2016-17 season marks the 22nd in the tenure of Bill Fennelly. Fennelly has led Iowa State to 16 NCAA Tournament appearances, which is tied with Oklahoma as the most of any Big 12 team since 1997. Fennelly boasts a 458-232 record at Iowa State and a 624-285 record in his 28-year career as a head coach. His 624 career wins lists him in the top-20 in the NCAA among active coaches.

- Johnson pulled in double-figure rebounds in 44 games in her career. Johnson has also scored in double figures in 81 games in her career and 18 of 20 games this season.
- Johnson has started every game of her career, which puts her at 110-straight starts.
- Johnson has had a double-doubles in 31 games in her career.
- Buckley has dished five or more assists in 47 career games, including 14 of the last 19.

Last Time Out
- The Iowa State women's basketball team fell to No. 20 Oklahoma on the road, 78-63. The Cyclones came back from a 17-point deficit to narrow the OU lead to just three on multiple occasions, but ISU was never able to grab a lead down the stretch as OU swept the Cyclones on the season.
- Iowa State was led Johnson, who went 8-of-14 from the floor and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds and three assists in 38 minutes of action.  Buckley chipped in 15 points, while Heather Bowe and Carleton rounded out the Cyclones in double figures with 11 and 10 respectively.Â
