Pollard Receives Distinguished Alumni Award From UW-Oshkosh

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard received the highest honor by his alma mater's alumni association, earning the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh's Distinguished Alumni Award for 2017.
The honor is awarded annually to UW-Oshkosh graduates who are active in their professional fields and are widely recognized for their career accomplishments.
A 1987 graduate of UW-Oshkosh, Pollard was inducted into the school's Athletics Hall of Fame in 1999. An All-American in both track & field and cross country, Pollard was the national champion in the 5,000-meter run at the 1987 Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
Pollard is in his 13th year as Director of Athletics at Iowa State, leading the department to unprecedented facility improvements, tripling its revenues and recording all-time program bests on the field, in the classroom and attendance marks in its five major sports.
Pollard has served as the chair of the Big 12 Athletics Directors Committee and president of the Division 1-A Athletics Directors Association.
