AMES, Iowa – Iowa State outside hitter Alexis Conaway was named to the Academic All-District 6 Volleyball Team, announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-American ballot, with the honorees being recognized in December.
On the court, Conaway has taken on a big challenge in 2017, moving from middle blocker to outside hitter in the middle of the season. Conaway has handled the transition well, averaging 2.39 kills per set and 1.69 digs per set to go with 1.07 blocks per frame. Conaway's 349 total blocks for her career ranks her No. 7 in Iowa State history.
Off the court, Conaway has maintained a 4.0 GPA during her entire career at Iowa State. A three-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team honoree, Conaway is also an active member of ISU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Conaway and the Cyclones return to competition on Saturday at TCU. First serve between the Cyclones and Horned Frogs will be at 7 p.m. in Fort Worth.
